About Me

Hi! Thank you for visiting my page.

I am Natalie. A mum of 3 boys, wife, pre-service teacher and a life long learner.  I love music, dancing, singing, mathematics, technology and reading. Prior to having my own kids, I volunteered at a local primary school teaching sign language and dance to songs.

Since I was a young girl, I have always hoped to be a school teacher when I grew up and now I am making that dream come true.  I am currently in second year at university through Curtin University.  I have really enjoyed the journey so far and I am developing a strong passion for working with a diverse range of students.  Two of my sons are on the Autism Spectrum.  They are teaching me just how different kids are and their interests, needs and styles of learning are just as different.  We have had to work quite intensively with my eldest (now year 4) to the level he is at today.  It has taken a great team of teachers and aides, a lot of perseverance, loads of creativity, However, most importantly, a deep understanding of where my son is at both developmentally and academically and use his interests to create learning goals and activities pitched at his level.  We have had great fun learning through hands on play and games.

I look forward to learning more on my journey developing new strategies and ideas to tailor the curriculum to meet the needs of students - individually and as a whole class.
